Description
The ABB CLMD43/25 400-50 is a 25 kvar, 400 V 50 Hz capacitor unit in the CLMD43 frame – a 275 x 266 x 152 mm steel tank with M8 stud terminals. CLMD uses a dry, self-healing metallised polypropylene dielectric with vermiculite filling and sequential overpressure protection, so a failed element is disconnected instead of rupturing the can. A built-in discharge resistor takes the terminals below 50 V within one minute. The 25 kvar step is the workhorse size for automatic power factor correction banks in workshop distribution boards, and for compensating pump, fan and compressor motors. IP42, IEC 60831-1/-2 compliant, suitable for 400 V networks at 50 Hz.
